New Scovie Award: Chile Beer Category

Hey all you professional and amateur brewers! Here’s a chance to see how your chile beer compares to your peers. For the first time, the Scovie Awards will have a category for Best Chile Beer. Note that this isn’t a contest for the hottest beer; though heat is to be expected, it’s also about flavor and the other factors that make a fine bottle of brew.

There will be two divisions: one for professionals and one for amateurs. For the past 17 years the Scovie Awards have represented the pinnacle of competition for manufacturers of spicy food and barbecue products. Created by Sunbelt Shows, producers of the National Fiery Foods & BBQ Show, the Scovie Awards attracts more than 700 entries annually. The deadline for entry in this new category is fast approaching: September 15 is the cutoff.
