Okay, there wasn’t actually a hurricane at this year’s National Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show in Albuquerque. We had wind and rain with a healthy dash of chaos to really set off the event, though. There just wasn’t any of the downside you get in an actual tropical storm.
The Big Show Turns 25. Happy Birthday!
Twenty-five years, 500,000 superhots, and the Doctor makes a house call. That sums up the 25th Annual National Fiery Foods and Barbecue Show so fast it doesn’t do justice to what was really a three-day chile party at Sandia Resort & Casino March 1-3.
El Pinto Talks Scovies
El Pinto Salsa has won more than 60 Scovie Awards over the years, and marketing director Sarah Chavez had this to say about the wins: “The Scovies are one of the most important things we do to market our product line. If we win a category we get bragging rights for a year and it helps increase sales of the winning item. The Scovies is the only spicy foods award contest to enter.”

Well, the 23rd Annual Fiery Foods & BBQ Show is now a fond memory, and Burn! Magazine is officially launched. We had a booth at the show, and partnered with the Disc-It company to give away three Disc-It grills (think of a huge outdoor wok with other attachments for a griddle, chile roaster, etc.).
