For the past few days we have been staying with our good friends Harald and Renate Zosche in their house beside Lake Garda in Bardolino, Italy. Here are some of the delicacies we’ve been indulging in. More goodies in next week’s newsletter. Ciao!
- Cocktails at the waterfront bars on Lake Garda at Bardolino.
- Porchetta (por-ketta), boned suckling pig wrapped up with herbs and garlic and roasted for 8 hours. Head-on, of course.
- Pizza Atomica, with spicy sausages and hot pepper flakes.
- And this weird import from Germany, served at weekly markets at Bardolino and Garda, Currywurst. This is cooked bratwurst served in a spicy, ketchup-based sauce and sprinkled with hot curry powder. It’s Germany’s #1 snack food, and surprisingly good!
