As interesting characters at the Fiery Foods Show go, JD Cowles ranks near the top of the list. He’s usually rocking a dyed goattee and ‘stache while showing off the latest and greatest spicy offerings from his All Spice Cafe in Venice Beach, California. JD’s been going to the show for at least as long as I have, so he knows his way around making great spicy sauces, snacks, and more. Like his Chipotle Olive Tapenade.

Spicy Chocolate Frappe

One thing I love to do at the Fiery Foods Show is prowl the floor looking for new ways to combine products. This Spicy Chocolate Frappe is the best result I’ve ever had.
It’s a frozen spicy red wine concoction teaming Nectar of the Vine’s Natural Chocolate Martini Frappe mix with CaJohn’s Frostbite Hot Sauce and Sweet & Saucy’s Chipotle Chile Fudge. All three are very tasty in their own rights. When I spliced them together, though, the results were better than I expected.

Warning: King Tong is not for the timid. And it shouldn’t be. Not with a name that cool. C’mon. Depending on what type of movie you like, it sounds like either a pun on King Kong, a Chinese crimelord in a kung fu movie, or an adult film actor with a very strange “mutation.” In reality, it’s a heavy duty stainless steel pincer for manipulating coals and burning wood chunks from over two feet away.
